5 Best Beach Picnic Ideas

This post on the 5 Best Beach Picnic Ideas is brought to you by Bota Box.

It’s probably safe to say that I look forward to our annual beach vacation more than any other time of the year. The four of us get the chance to get away from the normal day-to-day and enjoy life on beach time.

We operate on our own schedule and have very little care. We {mostly} unplug and get the chance to just sit around and do all of the things that we don’t enjoy the rest of the year.

All of the things or guidelines that shape our days at home suddenly during the rest of the year suddenly go out the window when you’re at the beach.

Like sleeping in…or as much as you can with two small children.

No bedtimes.

Day drinking.

Beach picnics…or any picnics really.

We stay in a rental house right on the sand and make it a point to stake out our spot in the sand as soon as we wake up. With our chairs and umbrella already in the sand, we can just pack our beach bag and a cooler bag full of snacks and drinks to head out to the beach.

Snacks and drinks are an essential part of the beaching experience.

Most days we just go for an entire kid-friendly set up but it’s always fun to mix things up and add a little sophistication to our spread. If you want to enjoy your own adult-friendly beach picnic, check out these tips for the 5 best beach picnic ideas.

These also make for a great addition to my Boat Day Essentials List.

5 Best Beach Picnic Ideas

1. Meat & cheese. I’m a big fan of deli meats and cheeses. Large slices of deli pepperoni or salami wrapped around mozzarella or a selection of mild, hard cheeses are always a good idea. Tip: Don’t forget the knife to slice your cheese.

2. Crackers. I like cheese as much as the next person but there’s something about a cracker that not only makes it feel like you’re eating a full meal but also helps the cheese last a little longer. A cracker assortment adds a little interest to plain old crackers and will help complement the different cheeses.

3. Olives. The spicier, the better for me so I go with green olives stuffed with jalapeños for beach picnics. But if you want an assortment of olives to please a group, you could always visit the olive bar in your grocery store for a variety!

4. Grapes. To temper all of the saltiness of the other foods, grapes (red or green) are a nice way to add a little sweet to your beach picnic. To minimize your cleanup, wash them ahead of time and stick them in a plastic bag.

5. Wine. I know what you’re thinking here. Sure I want my wine at the beach, but it’s not safe to bring glass on the beach. I totally agree. Glass wine bottle, glasses, and bottle opener is just a ton to haul down to the beach, not to mention a hazard.

But with Bota Box, you can enjoy your favorite wine varietals no matter where you go! Botx Box is an award-winning, high-quality, boxed wine that’s perfect for your summer adventures on the go.

It’s compact, portable, and easy to transport wherever the summer takes you. The box has an easy-to-dispense spout which means there are no tools or extra trash to worry about because it’s a 100% recyclable design.
