It may only be the third week of school, but I’m feeling quite established in this whole back-to-school routine. There’s a familiar rhythm and a pattern that most days follow that’s comforting but can also turn into stressful and confining.

There just doesn’t seem to be enough hours in the day.

I was really struggling at first and have been tweaking my schedule and trying to new routines that will streamline my life and make things easier and effective.

After some experimenting, I’ve come up with a list of 5 Ways to Save More Time Every Month that I would highly recommend for those of you that wish there was 25 hours in a day or feel like they just can’t do it all.

1. Plan one month of meals at a time. So much time can be wasted eating out between driving to the restaurant, waiting for your food, and eating. There’s a significant advantage to eating at home. You’re saving time, money, and eating more healthily than you would have at a restaurant.

If you’re struggling to come up with 30 days worth of meals, try repeating the same 7 dishes every week. Or, if you want more variety establish a theme for each day. Instead of having Taco Tuesday you could do a Mexican Monday.

2. Prep at night. Start getting ready for tomorrow, tonight. Simple things like setting the coffee pot timer, laying out your clothes, prepping lunches, and shower can save more time and stress tomorrow morning.

3. Automate your bills. Don’t risk not staying current on your bills or the stress of your payday not coinciding with a due date by automating your bills so you don’t have to even think about them but can rest easy knowing they’re paid.

4. Purchase cards once a month for the rest of the month. As soon as you get home, write out the card and address it with a stamp (if necessary) so you can just grab it and go whether it’s to pop it in the mailbox or hand deliver.

One idea for this is to buy a pre-filled card organizer box with every type of card imaginable from birthday and graduation to sympathy. Another alternative that isn’t as fancy and requires a little more work is to buy a set of blank notecards and personalize them with stickers, designs, or just a message as you see fit. I’ve done both and it’s just so easy!

5. Use an online grocery service. Walmart Online Grocery allows you to shop for everything you need from your computer and then have it ready when you arrive at the store.

It’s so simple! No need to worry about wrangling hyper kids through the aisles, struggling to find the aisle you need, or even changing out of your pajamas.

And did I mention, it’s free?!

Here’s how it works!

Visit Walmart Online Grocery. If the service is available in your area, there’ll be a popup confirming this along with an option to register or continue shopping. Registering is easy and uses your usual Walmart.com login info.

Search for the items you use every day, select the quantity, and add them to your cart. The products aren’t priced any higher than usual – these are the same every day low prices found in stores! I did my entire week’s worth of grocery shopping using Walmart Online Grocery and from everything to fresh produce and canned goods to cleaning supplies and medication, I was able to get it all!

Pick out the time slot and location that’s right for you. I shopped on a Sunday night knowing I wanted to pick up my order the following morning and a time that worked in my schedule.

When you’re done checking out, your order confirmation will show everything you need to know to pick up your order. While the store should call you to remind you of your order window, mine didn’t but I just called along my way to let them know I was heading their direction and then again when I reached the store.

If this is your first time using Walmart Online Grocery and your’e not sure where to go or what to do, don’t worry! There are signs all over the parking lot directing you to your designated pick up location. Reserved spaces are right outside a side door to the building. After asking for your ID, signature for pickup, and allowing you to inspect the fresh produce for quality (mine all looked great), the staff will quickly load your groceries into your car.

In the even something you bought is not available, they’ll just let you know and remove that item from your order without charging you and then will email you an updated receipt. On your first order, you can save $10 and will also receive a welcome gift. I received a bottle of water and a small bag with samples of products, but I have another friend that used the service and in addition to all of that, she also received a lovely bouquet of flowers!

Now if there was only a service that unloaded my groceries as well…
