Chamomile Raspberry Smoothie Recipe

Chamomile Raspberry Smoothies Labeled

When you were younger do you remember time moving impossibly slow and how you were always counting down to something? Counting to anything. To everything.

Whether it be the end of the school week, days until the next holiday break, your next birthday, the list goes on and on. But sometime after having your first child, time speeds up. And not just a little bit either, time moves at warp speed and you’re suddenly aware of how right your parents and grandparents were about time being precious and moving by so quickly.

It seems like just last week I was ringing in the New Year with my family and making new resolutions. Like many adults, one of my resolutions was to join the gym and get in shape.

After a 10 year hiatus from the gym, I wasn’t sure how long I was going to last with a much busier and demanding schedule. Here we are, almost a year later, and I’m pretty proud to say that I’m still at the gym three times a week!

After trying the exercise route alone for the last year, I’ve come to the realization that my body does not operate like it used to. Exercise alone isn’t going to get me the body I want, I need to rehab my diet too. I don’t want to set myself up for failure so I’m planning to hold off on any major changes until after the holidays.

Instead, I’ve started making small changes like making sure I get breakfast every day.

The main issue I have with sneaking in breakfast every day is time. Between taking one child to the bus stop, driving another to preschool, and getting to the gym skipping breakfast altogether has become the new norm.

On mornings I work out, I especially need something that’s not too heavy and will fuel my workouts. While I really like breakfast bars, they can get pricey and don’t always have the most wholesome ingredients so I’ve been opting for protein smoothies to start off the day.

I’ve found with a little prep work the night before, it makes mornings run much more smoothly. I make lunches for the girls at night, so while I’m doing that I can wash and chop fruit for smoothies.

Having the same smoothie day after day can get a little boring. Add-in’s like flavored protein powder and extra fruits and veggies are always an easy way to mix things up, I got a little creative with my latest smoothie and mixed with some chamomile tea. The flavor combination of chamomile with raspberries and bananas really paired well and added an unexpected level of flavor.

Nutri Ninja

In the past when I’ve made smoothies, not everything was blended to a uniform smoothness. They’re called smoothies for a reason, so huge chunks of ice or fruit just throw off the whole drink.

I had tried the Nutri Ninja at my cousin’s house and was immediately impressed with how smooth everything was. I was so excited to receive my own and love that the blending container also doubles as a cup with easy pour lid for smoothies on the go!
