I don’t know about you, but for me, it seems that the holidays really kick into full gear after Halloween. I’m only a week into preparation but they’re definitely underway and the planning has started so that this season can be a smooth, enjoyable, and less stress than they would be without the extra forethought.
My mind tends to go all abuzz with the things that need to be done this time of year. It’s an endless to-do list of want to do’s, must do’s, and traditions. Expectations aren’t always realized but taking a much-needed break and forcing myself to refocus every once in a while definitely helps in keeping me motivated and relaxed with a renewed excitement for the season ahead!
One way I like to unwind and unwind is with homemade wassail. The first time I tried wassail I was in my early teens and a neighbor prepared it for my family. It was like fall in a cup and was pure perfection for the cooling temps and season ahead.
The only problem is traditional wassail calls for orange juice which does nothing to keep me energized and continuing to check things off my to-do list. This year, I’ve swapped orange juice with Super Orange Emergen-C because it has 7 B-Vitamins to help enhance my energy naturally* without caffeine. I’m loving that I get a natural energy boost to get things done at night without compromising my sleep when I finally do lay down.
And honestly, it hasn’t changed the wassail much at all. In fact, I love the extra fizziness that adding Emergen-C gives to this easy wassail recipe.
