Finding Time to Exercise with Kids

Exercising with kids can be very difficult especially if you have more than one. Sometimes your plate is so full that exercising seems as if it shouldn’t be on your to-do list at all. Well, it should. And it can be. You just have to make a few sacrifices but trust me, it’s worth it 100%.

Exercising boosts your metabolism, releases endorphins which puts you in a good mood and of course, it helps you lose weight and stay fit. All of these reasons should be your main focus for exercising with kids. When you feel better and are in shape, you live longer and you can be more active with your children. Remember this always.

For one week, get up earlier and exercise before the kids wake up. I know that sounds crazy when you probably get up at 6 am already but just try. Getting up early gives you time to get in your full workout. You will also have quiet time to yourself and remember, you will be in a great mood and have tons of energy the rest of the day. The morning is the absolute best time to workout and can help you lose the maximum amount of weight.

Incorporate your kids into your workout. If your kids are old enough, commit to playing with them for at least 30 minutes a day. Strike up a game of tag, play basketball or football, hide and go seek, and more. The options are endless.

Find a gym with free daycare. Some women prefer going to the gym and participating in weight loss and fitness classes. Find one that offers free daycare with your membership. Your kids will have fun with other kids and you will have fun exercising without the kids! Just be sure that the gym child care workers are certified to be safe.

You can find time to exercise with kids. You can even do all these suggestions together. All you have to do is try and you’ll be hooked!

It's TOUGH finding time to exercise, but for the past month I've made it a priority to at least do 30 minutes a day...I know it's important for my health, and I want to set a good example for my kids...

If people can find the time to exercise with kids, then surely I can find the time without them! Losing 140 pounds is amazing--what an inspiration!

My son used to like to exercise with me. Not so much lately. But he will dance with me. :-)

Great tips! When my son was a baby - not quite crawling yet, I loved getting down on the floor with him and doing my exercises. He was happy and it helped me too!
