With two girls, ages 2 and 5, there is very little they can agree on and there’s certain to be multiple fights and complaining episodes each day. They both have outspoken, strong-willed personalities you can be sure there’s lots of shrieking and arguing.

What are their triggers? Just about everything. From where they’re going to sit, what they’ll be doing, or what they’ll be watching.

There are a few things that these two can easily agree on every time. (1) Suckers are the best candy in existence, (2) pulling out the couch bed makes playtime infinitely more fun, and (3) FROZEN is a cinematic masterpiece that must be appreciated every day without fail (multiple times if they locate the remote fast enough).

While I don’t allow my girls to watch FROZEN every day, they do watch it several times a week so for 102 minutes each viewing they’re the best of friends. In fact, FROZEN is the only movie that Cupcake will watch in its entirety.

Not only is the music enjoyable, but more importantly the message of true love between sisters is something I’d really love for my daughters to take to heart. I know they’re still young and age plays a big role in their relationship, but I hope by this positive modeling and the evolving relationship between Anna and Elsa that my girls will get along and be the best of friends!

Last week after watching FROZEN, I attempted to prolong the amicable spirit with a trip to Walmart. We’ve been on the hunt for FROZEN nightgowns and another Olaf toy (why we didn’t buy one for each girl, I’ll never know) for months now, which have been impossible to find online and in other stores. In fact, we’ve had a hard time finding much of anything FROZEN in stores. We successfully found some FROZEN products and I knew we had to purchase whatever we could for fear of not finding them the next time we needed something.

Since I don’t allow them to watch FROZEN every day, I’ve tried to leverage those FROZEN products to make some positive changes in our home and encourage my girls to play together.

The secret to sisters getting along is FROZEN!

These two couldn’t wait to get home and play with all the new FROZEN goodies! The garage door was still closing when the girls started changing into their new FROZEN t-shirts adorned with their favorite characters! I only bought them one shirt each, but already have plans to sneak back and grab some others for Christmas!

Cupcake has a wardrobe consisting almost entirely of hand me downs, so when big sister needed new panties and choose the ones with FROZEN characters, there was bound to be a fight. Not only was a crisis averted by purchasing each girl FROZEN panties, it’s only prompted Cupcake in her potty training journey! Anna, Elsa, or Olaf getting messy is out of the question and really making the possibility of full potty training more and more of a reality!

Without even realizing it, choosing the FROZEN figurines was such a smart choice on the girls’ parts. These characters are the perfect jumping off point for imaginative play together and on their own. They played together and got along for two hours with minimal issues – a new record! I have high hopes for longer and longer playtimes together!

Cakes and Cupcake have very different interests. Cakes is a tomboy and Cupcake is the typical girl and into princesses and all things girly! Finding a shared interest like FROZEN which combines elements they both enjoy is definitely the start of something amazing in their relationship! But, just in case the FROZEN getting along high is short-lived, I stashed a few more FROZEN items in my closet to keep things moving in the right direction!

So, so cute! Sibling dynamics have always fascinated me as I am only child, and we only have 1. As far as the movie goes...we saw it in the theater far too many times, and I chalked that up to the fact that we have so few kid friendly films available. Just when I thought that I would get a reprieve from Frozen, we visited Disney World. The soundtrack played for the rest of the summer

Such cuties! I think it's so great that they are getting along. I have two sisters and it wasn't always that way.

We are big Frozen fans here too! I love the cute shirts you found for the girls. I think a talking Olaf would be great for the boys.

This made me think about the many memories my sister and I had growing up playing together! We are the same ages apart as your daughters (with me being the younger).
