To answer your question, no I’m not pregnant…yet. We’re still trying but it just hasn’t happened yet. But I want to be prepared for when I do get pregnant and am always on the lookout for maternity/pregnancy items to review because I know I’ll be able to use them soon enough (or at least I hope so)!
When I was pregnant with Cakes, I was pregnant in winter and couldn’t find a lot of trendy, yet cheap maternity clothes. I was working at the time and was required to follow a business casual dress code. When I buy clothes I want them to last for years and since maternity clothes have a finite lifetime, I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on something that wasn’t going to last. So, since I was trying to be frugal and not spend a lot on something that would get such limited use, I didn’t have any clothes that people commented on or were fashionable and up to date. Instead I bought a few items as my belly grew to carry me through and opted for classic basics.
I recently discovered Kiki’s Fashion and am in awe at how affordable cute maternity dresses can be! Even if you’re pregnant in winter. In retrospect after looking at the pictures from when I was pregnant, I should have done a little online research and found Kiki’s Fashions sooner so I wouldn’t be embarrassed of the limited number of maternity items I had and would have had a little more variety while I was pregnant.
Kiki’s Fashions offered to send me an item for review and I knew I would choose something I could get as much use out of as possible. I opted for a black maxi dress that looked like it’d be really comfortable and cute when I was sporting a bump but that I could also wear now to camouflage my belly after too many donuts. If I didn’t tell you it was a maternity dress, I don’t think you’d ever know. The material of the dress is really lightweight and perfect for the triple digit temperatures we’ve already started having. I can definitely see myself updating my maternity wardrobe when I get pregnant again at Kiki’s Fashions!
