Pool Party on a Budget + Pool Bag Checklist

Pool Bag Checklist

Memorial Day weekend has somehow snuck up on me this year. And for our family, Memorial Day marks our start of summer. We’ll have the next three months to spend lots of quality time together and with the hot Texas summers, that means lots of water activities.

While we don’t have a pool, the temps have been warm enough lately to necessitate lots of time running through the sprinklers, chasing each other with squirt guns, and splashing around in the water table. To kickstart the season, I decided to throw a fun little party for our family that could easily be expanded upon for a larger gathering at a pool party!

It’s early summer so in an effort to stretch our budget a little more, I tried to think of fun ways to use some inspiration from the Hostess with the Mostess blog to make our party fun and themed but without breaking the bank! See how fun and easy hosting a pool (or other water themed party) on a budget can be!

Since our little impromptu water party, I had all the supplies to back our pool bag and get things ready for the season. Of course I’ll need to add more to the bag as things are used and the summer progresses, we’re off to a great start with building a pool bag checklist that will keep us ready to have fun (even at a moment’s notice) all summer long!

Pool Bag Checklist – 3 Essential Items

The items in your pool bag will likely vary based on yours and your family’s current life stage. You’ll likely have items specific to that, but any trip to the pool would not be complete without these three essential items.

  • Huggies Little Swimmers Swim Diapers: with easy open sides, make changing kids in and out of swim diapers a simple process. These swim diapers make taking kids to the pool easy because there’s no worrying about leakage or comfort when your child has these on.
  • Sunscreen: it’s important to protect everyone’s skin, but especially little ones’. Spray sunscreen is the easiest for our family because it applies quickly, if applied correctly provides even coverage, and there’s no need to rub it in.
  • Sunglasses:  akin to protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays, it’s also important to protect your eyes. As someone with light eyes, I can attest to being more tired and experiencing eye strain and headaches when not keeping my eyes covered.

What’s on your pool bag checklist? Make sure to keep your bag stocked for summer with all of these pool party essentials, including the only swim pant with Easy Open Sides!

Ready for the pool? For instant fun just add water. Choose the only swimpants with easy open sides. Huggies Little Swimmers Swimpants http://www.huggies.com/en-US/products/diapers/littleswimmers

Snacks are in my bag. Swimming wears the kiddos out, but we can make it a marathon day if they can refuel.

Great checklist! I have the sunscreen always packed and a few around the house. We're never without it.

Sunscreen is a must (says the person who got burnt to the crisp at the beach, because they misplaced their sunscreen)!

We always make sure to have plenty of sunscreen packed. And we pack hats and lip balm that has sunscreen in it.
