Simple & Practical Spring Hostess Gift Basket Idea

This Spring Hostess Gift idea post has been compensated by Collective Bias and it’s advertiser. All opinions are mine alone.

Who is watching the college basketball games? We can’t be the only ones hollering at the tv right!? We love this time of year and all the March basketball! We have some friends that are die hard basketball fans who live out of town. So every year during the tournaments, we go stay the weekend at their house. Our kids play, we grill outside in the gorgeous Texas weather and we watch basketball! We’re getting packed up for the weekend and being that they host us, I always bring some kind of hostess gift to thank them! For March, it is always basketball and spring themed! You could leave the basketballs off and have an adorable spring hostess gift, or a simple supper hostess gift.

All of my hostess gifts go in baskets, buckets or bins because they look so much cuter and can be used again later! For the price of gift wrap, you will only pay a couple of dollars more and get a better looking gift. Any time I see a good bargain, I grab it to use later so I always have something on hand to put a hostess gift in! Here’s all the goodies I used this time!

Our friends are providing the meat to grill so I headed to Walmart to get some fresh veggies for the grill and potatoes to bake. I can always find everything I need there, especially during basketball watching season. We load up on fresh produce, snacks and treats! Am I the only one that thinks you have to have peppers with every meal?

I also grabbed a loaf of fresh bread and our favorite extra virgin olive oil and bread dipper seasonings to share for an appetizer. There are some specialty seasonings for bread dippers or you can use a simple Italian blend seasoning or fresh rosemary and parmesan. While I got my supplies together, my munchkin did some basketball crafting to decorate our gift! It also kept them busy for 2.5 seconds so hashtag momwin.

Then I bring in the big guns of this hostess gift. The MVP’s of the weekend if you will, Advil Liquid-Gels and cookies. In between the games we watch, the guys will go out in the driveway and shoot hoops! The next morning they will both wake up moaning and try to skirt out of the days activities (chasing all the tiny humans) to get some rest because they are so sore. Advil ensures we don’t lose the dads all weekend to the couch! The Water Man and I started taking Advil for joint and muscle pain as we have gotten older. The Water Man works outside a lot so he comes home with back pain, aching joints and sore muscles. It has been a game changer for aches in our house, I always have it on hand so we can enjoy life with out the pain! Nothing’s stronger, longer lasting or better on your tough aches and pains than Advil.* (*Among OTC brands)

While I was at Walmart stocking up on my favorite Pfizer products and grabbing all the supplies I needed for the weekend, I snagged some cookie dough because kids. After all the fights negotiations over veggies are through, we like to make everyone happy with some good old fashion chocolate chip cookies!

This is one of the easiest hostess gift baskets I create! We added the basketball crafts the kids painted to stick with our basketball theme for the weekend. But it’s also spring and no spring gift basket would be complete without fresh spring flowers! What are your favorite hostess gift ideas?
