I know it’s so cliche for a mom/wife to ask for kitchen items for her birthday or Christmas. I don’t know how many commercials or movies have depicted the stereotypical insult a woman faces when being presented with a household item for a holiday. So I must be in the minority but for several years now I have been asking for just that. Even before I started blogging and documenting with photographs all of my baking adventures, at the top of my list has been a KitchenAid Stand Mixer. Thanks to the generous people who work at QVC, two weeks ago I was able to check the KitchenAid stand mixer off my list.
My excitement could hardly be contained when my new KitchenAid Deluxe Edition 5qt Stand Mixer arrived. I made quick work on unboxing and assembling my new toy and rearranging everything on so I could put it proudly on display. While KitchenAid Stand Mixers come in lots of fun, playful colors at the urging of a friend I opted for the silver metallic finish since it’s timeless and will always match my kitchen. There’s a part of me that still longs for a more vibrant color but I love my mixer and know I made the right decision.
After quickly reading through the instruction manual and familiarizing myself with the different settings and attachments on the mixer, it was time to play! From the instruction manual I was able to easily choose the appropriate attachment for making cookies and select the right speed setting for the job. I loved that unlike a hand mixer where you have to stop and add things gradually to the bowl, there was never any down time when using the KitchenAid Stand Mixer and preparing a recipe was much faster and efficient than ever before.
