In a dutch oven or stock pot, melt butter over medium heat.
Add onion and green pepper and cook until softened, about 6 minutes. Add garlic and brown for 1 minute.
Mix ground beef into the pot. If fully cooked, wait until softened and then add apricot preserves, hot sauce, and ketchup to the pot and allow to thicken.
If you're using fresh ground beef, cook until no longer pink before adding other ingredients.
