Must Have Products for Tender Headed Girls

They say a woman’s hair is like her crown. Not just women, all females including little girls. But long, beautiful , shiny locks of hair comes at a price. And for a little ones the price is pretty high sense the daily maintenance and care is usually done by mom.

At least that’s how it is in our house. I have two tender headed girls that love having long hair but for years I had to fight multiple times daily as they would cry and pull away when getting their hair brushed and style.

As the struggles intensified I would alternate between threats and rewards. More than once I threatened (and actually followed through with cutting their hair more than once). The rewards usually weren’t effective enough to get them to cooperate for too long. A piece of candy is long forgotten by the next day when their hair would get brushed again.

But let’s face it, cutting their hair is only a temporary fix. The girls need to learn how to take proper care of their hair. Not to mention those $30 haircuts are adding up.

So if you have kids with tender hair and/or sensory issues then this list of must have products to tender headed girls is for you!

1. Suave Kids® Disney Frozen Elsa 2-in-1 Shampoo + Conditioner in Berry Flurry. The girls love it has one of their favorite princesses on the front and the strawberry scent. I love the great price, pump bottle design, and one-step cleaning. This makes shower time faster and allows the girls to be a little more independent.

2. Suave Kids® Disney Frozen Olaf 2-in-1 Shampoo + Body Wash in Icy Grape. Again, the girls love the fruity and fun scent and Olaf on the front. I love that the formula is gentle and specially formulated for kids, and I only need two kids products in the shower for them instead of three since these first two items have shampoo, conditioner, and body wash all combined!

3. Suave Kids® Disney Frozen Anna Detangler Spray in Sparkle Berry. While the girls each have different types of hair (Brady’s hair is thick and straight, Colby’s is thin with some wave), detangler is a necessity for both of them. The girls have an obsession with spray bottles, so being able to spray their own hair with “Princess Anna spray” makes the process more fun!
4. Wet hair brush. The sensation of the comb makes Brady cringe, so we only use brushes. However, all brushes aren’t created equal so having a hair brush designed for wet hair is one of the keys to avoiding tears with tender headed girls.
5. Non-elastic hair ties. Traditional hair ties with metal pieces or elastics pull on tender heads and I’ve cut many a hair tie out before finding these ribbon hair ties which look cute but are super gentle on hair.

Before you threaten to cut your daughter’s hair, try out all of these must have products for tender headed girls and see the difference they can make!
