I’ve had the most amazing time traveling the country for work this year. As exhausting and stressful as it is, I love the thrill of going somewhere new. And even if it isn’t new, having a new experience with my travel companions.

One of the things I dread most about traveling is the packing process. I’m notorious for waiting until the last possible minute (even staying up super late for an early morning flight) to get everything in order.

I always travel with a carryon for business trips. The thought of getting to my destination without my bag terrifies me. But thanks to post 9/11 TSA guidelines, packing is way trickier and even figuring out what to put into my travel toiletry bag can be a challenge.

This year alone I’ve been on 10 business and flown together once as a family. This has put me in 15+ different airports this year and made me appreciate the importance of having my suitcase in order and my travel toiletry bag always ready. Check out the tips below so you’ll arrive with everything you need to have a great trip!

What to Pack in Your Travel Toiletry Bag for Women

1. Hair Essentials

With the TSA regulations, it can be tricky to figure out what to put in your liquids bag, but we all need hair though, right? Invest in refillable toiletry containers that you can put your favorite shampoo and conditioner in. Then you’ll need heat protectant if you plan on styling your hair while traveling and/or hairspray. Since there are so many hair products you might be tempted to pack, you could really maximize space in your travel toiletry bag by going for a bar shampoo and/or dry shampoo.

2. Face Essentials

I’ve suffered from acne since I was a teenager and now I’m battling rosacea and other fun aging skin problems. So traveling with my own facial cleansers and moisturizers are a must. Don’t be a slave to the pre-filled travel toiletry bag products, just repackage your own in smaller sizes. I also avoid bringing more than one moisturizer on trips or a separate eye cream. Figure out what product is a must for you and then just use that morning, night, and under your eyes. It’s only temporary so it should throw off your face care routine and will save you some serious space.

3. Skincare Essentials

Obviously, your hotel is going to have a bar of soap available and if your skin is good with that, then this will definitely help you maximize space in your travel toiletry bag. But if you’re particular about the products you use because you have sensitive, dry, or problematic skin you’re going to want to pack your own. And the more fragrant your body wash or lotion, in most cases the better because you won’t have to also pack a body spray or perfume into an already small travel toiletry bag.

4. Oral Care Essentials

When adding items to my travel toiletry bag, I try to travel as light as possible. Toothbrush, toothpaste, and maybe floss (don’t tell my dentist I said that). Unless you have braces or a condition that requires you to use mouthwash or liquid fluoride, don’t even bother packing these. Gum or mints should do just fine to keep your breath fresh on the go and won’t take up precious space in your liquids bag.

5. Underarm Essentials

Airports and airplanes are so inconsistent when it comes to temperatures so working up a sweat before you even get to your destination is likely going to happen. Not to mention those long walks from one end of the airport to the other (I swear every time I fly I’ll arrive at one end of the airport and having to sprint to the other end to make my connecting flight).

Deodorant is just one of those things most of us consider an essential every day, not just when traveling, so we can feel fresh and at our best. You’re likely not going to be camping out in your hotel room when you’re traveling so having a product that lasts all day is essential.

With Degree Clinical Deodorant you can embrace a new sense of comfort and confidence. This antiperspirant has clinical strength to give powerful protection but is also designed for daily use. It’s also effective at fighting odor and wetness for up to 48 hours with a fresh, clean scent. And, because it’s in stick-form, won’t count towards the liquids in your travel toiletry bag.
