Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Few things can tempt me quite like freshly baked, chewy chocolate chip cookies. While I’m a lover of all most cookies (I’m talking about you oatmeal raisin), chocolate chip cookies are by far my hands down favorite.

I don’t know what makes me love them so much. It could be they remind me of my childhood, even though those cookies were likely store bought.

Or if it’s just chocolate chip cookies are a classic and generally consistent and safe no matter where you find them. Either way, if you’re baking up some cookies this week for an exchange, gifts, or to leave for Santa this is an easy recipe that’s sure to please even the pickiest cookie connoisseurs.

Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients

• 1/3 c. white sugar
• 1/3 c. brown sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 tsp. vanilla extract
• 1/2 c. unsalted butter melted
• 1.25 c. all-purpose flour
• 1/2 tsp. salt
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

2. In a small bowl, mix together flour, salt, and baking soda. Set aside.

3. In a separate bowl, combine white sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and butter. Mix together until smooth, then add in the egg.

4. Mix dry and wet ingredients together until well combined.

5. Stir in chocolate chips.

6. Drop by rounded spoon (or cookie scoop) onto ungreased cookie sheet

7. Bake 8-10 minutes in preheated oven.
