Coffee provides the essential start to my day. There’s nothing like the full bodied flavored and rich smell to get my senses perked up and my body shifting into high gear.
I can have an addictive personality at times and find it hard to pace myself when I find something good that I love. For instance, I’ll only brew a pot of coffee in the morning and I’ll keep it warm until my husband and I have each refilled our mugs twice and/or the pot is empty. Then it’s off for the rest of the day.
But there are days when an afternoon pick me up becomes more need than want and a little kick is necessary to power through the rest of the day. On those days, I don’t want to brew another whole pot of coffee only to be up half the night from caffeine overload or sucking down hot liquids when the temps have risen into the triple digits.
Instead, when I need a little extra help in the afternoon I combine that caffeine buzz I need with a sweet treat. I’ve been reaching for our sponsor’s, International Delight Iced Coffee, which tastes great straight out of the container, over ice, or my new favorite, in milkshake form! There are so many different flavors of International Delight now, the flavor possibilities are endless! There’s nothing like a cold, creamy, milkshake to keep you cool and energized on a hot summer day.
When you need an afternoon cool off, try out my Cookies and Coffee Cream Milkshake recipe!
