Somehow it’s already the middle of October. This year has just flown by. I can’t believe Halloween is in less than two weeks and I’m already seeing Christmas decorations popping up in stores.

If the year has flown by this point, I don’t even know how to describe the whirlwind it’s going to feel like for the rest of 2016. There’s just so much left to fit in.

Not only do I have the same holidays as everyone else to prepare for, there is a bunch of things that have popped up that will take a bit of time and planning. To start, we have friends visiting from California, so the week before Thanksgiving we’re going to do a friends giving to celebrate the holidays with all of our friends. A Friendsgiving, if you will.

And, because my parents live in San Antonio we’re still debating when to celebrate Thanksgiving with them since it’s a 2 hour drive each way and my dad has to work on Friday. Since my husband and I usually do the bulk of the cooking it only makes sense for us to host. But since we’ll likely be heading over to The Water Wife’s house for Thanksgiving extravaganza with their family, we’ll likely be hosting the fam here the weekend following Thanksgiving. (Yay, help with decorating for Christmas!)

Then, Brady is turning eight, three days before Christmas so I feel like I need to have her party a week or two early so that more of her friends have the opportunity to come. And, then my husband’s birthday is four days after Christmas.

There is so much to plan and get ready for with all of these fun celebrations and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. But, it can be a little stressful to try and coordinate and entertain so many people seamlessly.

I’ve already started prepping with lots of lists for each events and trying to get everything I need already so I’m not stressed and having heart palpitations and stressed induced migraines for doing my usual procrastinating. Even switching to a counter-depth refrigerator to save space in our kitchen, we still have plenty of room to place things for holiday prep without worrying about things taking up extra space.

My husband and I are only children, but I can only imagine just how much more stressful things would be if there were even more of us to account for. One thing I’m really excited about this year is my GE Profile Fridge with Built-in Keurig that I told y’all about last month.

GE Profile Fridge with Built In Keurig Review Making Coffee

Trying to entertain with different people are up times, schedules, and varying levels of necessary caffeination having a fridge that can heat up coffee on demand is such a help. So, if I’m up at o’dark thirty trying to get dishes ready and everyone else is sleeping, I can still get the water heating for my cup of coffee without worrying that I’m waking the house. How genius is that?!There’s no wasted time, cold coffee, or or unused coffee from making a regular pot and a decaf, or, for those that like tea some herbal tea on demand.

How are you getting ready for the holidays? Are you finding new ways to get through and make life easier and less stressful?
