Did I mention this was a Sunday, so normally my only options would have been an expensive urgent care center or an emergency room visit!! The process to register for Doctor On Demand was surprisingly easy. I chose to use the app on my iPhone but you can also use your android, iPad, tablet or computer. After a speedy download, all I had to do was fill out some information about myself and my symptoms and a doctor was on the live with me within minutes. MINUTES! I was in shock.
Dr. Chhipwadia was so attentive, I felt like royalty. We started out visiting, reviewing my medications and current conditions. She assessed me, asked me to hold my phone up to my mouth to look in my throat and confirmed it was not strep. She gave me new insights on the home remedies I was already doing and made suggestions where I could make improvements. She was informative, patient, attentive and answered all of my questions. It was really neat that she could see our home and the environment to discuss my allergies and the options for my course of treatment. It gives the physicians an advantage over going into an office. It was clear by our visit that my self medicating for my allergies was not the best solution and she gave me a clear treatment plan and explained using the over the counter medications with the correct dosage for my issues.
I had skipped the part of the application to put in my pharmacy information because I didn’t think there was anything that could be prescribed. Turns out I was wrong, the medical field is constantly improving. So Dr. Chhipwadia looked up my pharmacy for me while we were on the phone and had a prescription for a new medication already sent in before our visit was even finished. The physicians can also write medication refills for you. I seriously could not believe it. I was so so impressed with my sweet doctor, the visit, the ease of use and the fact that I could register and have a doctor visit for only $40 from anywhere and on my schedule! This is the future of health care, not only can you receive quality medical care from the comfort of your own home but anywhere you are, like on vacation or business travel!
I really thought it was too good to be true, but I was wrong, this is an excellent service. There is no monthly service fee or subscription fee, you are only charged per video visit.
