Tinker Bell & the Legend of the NeverBeast Inspired Recipes

Tinker Bell Disclosure
Pixie Pops Recipe {Inspired by Tinker Bell & the Legend of the NeverBeast} #TinkandNeverbeast #ad

“The sun did not shine. It was too wet to play. So we sat in the house all that cold, cold wet day.” We’ve been reading so much this week, I swear I have the first 30 pages of The Cat and the Hat memorized now.

Miserable weather with not a lot to do has been our life for the last couple of weeks. The sun isn’t shining and we’ve even begun doubting its existence with all of this overcast/fog/rain. This is not the Austin that we bargained for.

Nevertheless, it’s the Austin that we get…this winter anyway. And like it or not we have to make due with this insane departure from our typical weather.

Tinker Bell & the Legend of the NeverBeast at Walmart #TinkandNeverbeast #ad

Which with two little ones already going stir crazy means finding creative ways to keep them occupied. My girls go a little crazy for Disney movies and couldn’t wait until release day for Tinker Bell & the Legend of the NeverBeast.

While they were at school, I swung by Walmart to pick up the DVD, a couple of Tinker Bell toys, and the ingredients for a little rainy day fun. Our own premier party for Tinker Bell & the Legend of the NeverBeast!

What little girl wouldn’t love some Tinker Bell inspired treats to snack on during the movie? Since I had limited time to work with (while they were at school), I needed the snacks to be easy peasy.

And at 6 and 3, they’re pretty easy to please so simple, fun, and fairy inspired were only self imposed parameters. While pixie dust may be gold, I went with blue for a more eye catching and colorful snacks and as a play off of the blue pixie dust in the previous Tinker Bell movie!

Inspired Recipes

Pixie Pops Step 1

Open all of your Rice Krispies Treats squares and cut them in half.

Pixie Pops Step 2

Insert the cake pop stick 3/4 of the way through the Rice Krispies Treat. Be careful not to stick too far or all the way through as the Rice Krispies Treat will not secure and slide down.

Microwave your white candy melts at 50% power for 30 seconds at a time until completely melted. Dip each Rice Krispies Treat into the melted candy until completely coated.

Depending on the size of your bag/bowl it may be helpful to use a spoon to completely cover the Rice Krispies Treat. Lightly shake off excess melted candy before coating with colored sugar.

Holy YUM, seriously. I'll have one of each of those treats, please. Maybe I'll come to Austin and we'll have a Summer & Kelly day date with all these treats and a pedi. :) #client

My kids would totally freak over those pops! I think we've watched this movie 4 times already...and they're still going strong!
