Dr Pepper Cherry No Bake Cheesecake Recipe
Have you ever taken one of those dialect quizzes? You know the ones that are supposed to pinpoint where you’re from by how you pronounce things or what you refer to things as?
I took one of these a few weeks ago and was shocked at the results. Growing up an Air Force brat and then continuing to move around as an adult, I was certain I was going to be assigned some random place.
The first time I took the quiz it said I was from Johnson County, Kansas or Kansas City, Missouri. Coincidentally the same area where my husband’s family lives.
I saw a slight connection with that but after a friend took it and it pinpointed where she was from down to the county, I decided to take the quiz again. This time I received some different questions and based on the results it revealed I was either from Colorado Springs or Denver.
Wait, what? How is it even possible that after answering 25 random questions did it know where I consider myself “from” and where I’ve lived longer than any other place?
One of the random questions that struck me was: what do you call the sweet carbonated drink from a can? There were at least five answers and I don’t remember them all but the most popular answers were soda, pop, and coke.
After living in Texas for 8 years, I knew that I could guarantee a Texas response for where I was from if I just answered coke but I couldn’t. All soda is not coke and if you asked most Texans what they mean whey ask for coke – they don’t just mean a particular brand of cola flavored beverage, they mean the Texas original…Dr Pepper.
I may not be from Texas originally, but I fit in because the only soda I will drink is Dr Pepper. If it’s not Dr Pepper, I’d just assume drink water.
But I don’t just love to drink Dr Pepper, I recently started adding it to recipes too! In summer, I’d rather not turn the oven on (at least during the day) if I don’t have to, so no bake desserts are ideal.
A few days ago while entertaining friends I decided that a no bake dessert would be perfect summer entertaining, so I made Dr Pepper Cherry No Bake Cheesecake which made a cool treat for a hot summer day!
